Jason celebrated his 38th birthday today with his family, how wonderful.

EXCLUSIVE: Paramount has acquired an untitled pitch for a comedy that will star Will Ferrell and Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa. Andy Mogel & Jarrad Paul will write it and Nick Stoller and Gary Sanchez will produce. They are keeping the logline under wraps but when it was being pitched, sources described it as Galaxy Quest meets Ocean’s Eleven, with Ferrell a washed up TV star reuniting with his now grown TV show son (Momoa) who has become a huge star.

According to Gold Coast Bulletin (by way of ComicBook.com), pre-production on Aquaman begins this month in Australia. Interestingly, this coincides with the end of filming for Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok in the same location: Village Roadshow Studios in Oxenford, Gold Coast, Queensland. In mid-October, cast members of both Justice League and Aquaman were shooting on location in Iceland — one wonders if any of that content will be used in the solo flick.

Aquaman is swimming to new waters.

Jason Momoa, who will continue to play the DC superhero in Warner Bros.’ upcoming Justice League and his stand-alone Aquaman movie, has moved from APA to WME.

The actor first rose to stardom with his role on HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones, and he also starred on TV series The Red Road. He will soon be seen in Netflix and Discovery Canada’s upcoming action-thriller series Frontier.
